Joseph River Estate 2024 Reserve Chardonnay

Our multi award-winning Reserve Chardonnay is crafted from a single vineyard in Margaret River, reflecting our family’s commitment to expressive, site-driven wines. The 2024 vintage showcases both precision and generosity, shaped by careful handling and traditional techniques in the winery.

TASTING NOTES  

Pale straw with a delicate lime-green hue. The nose is layered with aromas of buttered toast, roasted almonds and white stone fruits. The palate is dry and refined, with soft natural acidity, subtle nuttiness and a creamy texture, finishing long and elegant.

WINEMAKING 

The 2024 vintage was notably early, with Chardonnay harvested on 22 January. Fruit was chilled overnight before gentle whole bunch pressing in the early morning. The juice was transferred directly to French oak barrels for natural fermentation, followed by lees stirring to build texture and complexity. The wine was matured on yeast lees for nine months in a selection of specially chosen French oak barrels.
